Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He relocated from Chicago to the Boston area in 1998 to assume the role of Operations Manager for the branch office of the national design firm GHK. Since that assignment, he has held the positions of Director of Interior Design at Payette and Practice Manager at ADD, Inc – both prestigious architectural design firms in Boston. Steve is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Boston Society of Architects.
In 2005, when opportunities in Residential architecture developed, Steve decided to pursue the dream of operating his own design firm. Originally, the work at studio-meyers was focused in the South Shore communities of Cohasset, Hingham, and Scituate. Since that time, project locations have spread to Boston, Cape Cod, and other suburban locations around the Boston area.
The mission of studio-meyers is to provide each client with the highest quality of architectural services and design, and consequently improve the aesthetics of individual homes and quality of life for the owners. The design / program needs of each unique client are paramount, and the ability to ascertain this information while closely listening to clients will always be the first priority.
The studio-meyers design approach is to work hand in hand with each individual client, listening, sketching and jointly creating a distinctively fitting home that is born out of the process of the architect and client working together to find design solutions that are unique to each custom home.
Seeking continuing education to remain at the forefront of this constantly evolving industry, the firm strives to offer advice on the most current design products and construction services, while keeping up to date with the most recent code requirements to ensure a successful outcome for each project.
Great design creates beautiful aesthetics, better functionality, and greater efficiency in buildings while recognizing our responsibility to the future. It respects the changing needs of users, the evolution of communities and the impact we all have on the natural environment.
